It’s a place where you come for experience, not eating/drinking. It’s a wooden house with panorama windows on all four walls, in the middle of woods, surrounded by trees and mountains. It’s a beautiful path that leads to this place. It’s so quiet and cozy inside, visitors respect each other and talk quiet. Relaxing atmosphere. You sit next to the window and enjoy nature. I was sitting next to the window and could see beautiful mountain landscape and even a piece of Kyoto city. I tried matcha tea, it was rich and delicious 1200 yen. Yuzu iced soda was mind blowing, so refreshing, flavor is a mix of lemon and grapefruit 1100 yen. Delicious and fresh strawberry roll cake, big amount of berries, minimum amount of sugar 500 yen. I recommend to book a desired time and seat. Otherwise you will end up on a couch in the corner of the room and can’t see well the views. First time we didn’t book and weee sitting on a small couch and couldn’t see much. Then we booked a time and desired spot - next day we enjoyed the best views Lots of tourists come here for photos. It can be annoying to sit and some people come and start taking photos behind your back. Asking politely would be a much better approach.
Found out about this place from an old blog post. Made a reservation in advance but they allowed us in early since there was room. Honestly it was some of the best desserts I’ve had here so far. Great views, wonderful service. The creme brulee and mulled wine were great as was the soft matcha chiffon.
Hidden gem in Kyoto, away from the crowds. Just a short 10‑minute trek up, and you’re in a peaceful spot perfect for reading, relaxing, or just soaking in the quiet. Staff were lovely and the experience was amazing — I almost don’t want people to find it.
Make sure you book in advance. Reservation is available on their website. The cafe is in the historical building surrounded by beautiful nature. I enjoyed Matcha cheese cake. Staff was polite and nice. The toilet was very clean.
We trekked uphill to come to this cafe! Please check their opening time schedule before your visit to avoid disappointment. Really feel the peacefulness and just a time to enjoy genuine hand-whisked matcha tea and a cup of coffee accompanied by a slide of matcha cheesecake.
What an adorable cafe to sit and relax for a while! Tucked away in a small park near Kyoto University, this cafe easily was the most relaxed restaurant I visited while in Kyoto for a weel. They have a nice drink menu with a few alcoholic drinks, pastries, and light food options. Surrounded by trees, birds, and views to the west mountains it deserves the short walk to escape the city. Next time I would try the cheesecake and hand made matcha tea!
The place located top of the hill, nice city and forest view, enjoy the peace. Food is good, I had a Set ¥1500 which included ice cream, tea, red beans butter sandwich. But check the opening days/hours before you go.
I liked this place a lot, it’s located on the top of the mountain and the view from windows is very good. The house looks very traditional and cozy, it’s made of wood. There are no food, only sweets and drinks, but assortment of desserts is good and YuSu juice is very delicious. This place has amazing calm atmosphere, it’s nice to sit there and enjoy the view listening to forest sounds. I recommend to owner to extend the menu and to add some onigiri or corn soup or sandwiches. I recommend this place!
